AdminHistoryEdward Elsdale Clark, solicitor, who gave his name to the firm, was in business from about 1850. He succeeded William Shearburn. Much of the local public business of the Snaith and Rawcliffe area passed through their hands. They were stewards of the local manioral courts and the local landowners were their clients.
CustodialHistoryThe collection consists of records deposited in Sheffield City Libraries in 1968, which were catalogued by the Library under the reference SCR and records deposited with the Humberside County Record Office by Messrs Clark's successors, Messrs R A and C P Heptonstall of Gladston Terrace, Goole and cleared from their premises in 1977.
