Book a viewing
You can simply drop-in to the research room but to ensure that you have a seat and avoid disappointment, we advise that you book a viewing. You can use our online catalogue to find what you want to look at and then order documents and request an appointment by completing the archives service request form (opens in new window).
You will need to order the things you want to see if you are visiting on a:
- Tuesday or Thursday evening
- Saturday
If you are visiting us at any other time we would advise that you order your documents before you come.
You will need to book a microfiche/microfilm viewer if you want to look at:
- Church registers
- Newspapers
You can book a viewer by completing the

If you want to use the Register of Deeds you will need to let us know. The Register of Deeds is not available on a Tuesday or Thursday evenings or on a Saturday.
