AdminHistoryCastle Howard Reformatory School was founded in 1855 by the Society for the Reformation of Juvenile Offenders for the East and North Ridings of the County of York and the Town and County of Kingston upon Hull. In 1933, the name of the school changed to the Castle Howard Approved School. Responsibility for the school was assumed by Kingston upon Hull Corporation in 1936, initially by the Education Committee, and then, in 1948 by the Children's Committee. Local government reorganisation brought the school under the authority of Humberside County Council Social Services Department in 1974, when the school was renamed the Castle Howard Regional Community Home.
