Edward Fox was born on 19 Jun 1895 in Beverley and was baptised 27 May 1897 at St Nicholas church, the son of Edward and Ellen Fox who lived at 5 New Villas, Chantry Lane, Beverley. He had 4 siblings John, Beatrice, Herbert and Violet. In the 1911 census he was working as a tanner's labourer. Edward served in the 5th Yorkshire Regiment from 1915 to 1919 and earned the 15 Star, Victory and British medals.
Edward married Ethel Bowman in 1920, they had 4 children, Edward, Joan, Roy and Leslie. He died on 17 Jun 1952 in Beverley
