Stephen Wilfrid Willison was born in Beverley in Oct 1899, the son of Stephen and Betsey Willison (nee Robinson), he attended Minster Moorgate Infants and Minster Boys School. Stephen married Sarah Doris Kirk on 13 Feb 1936 at Beverley St Johns (Minster) and they had no children.
Stephen joined the Royal Navy in 1915 serving aboard HMS Ganges, HMS Queen, HMS Victory and HMS Malaya throughout the war. He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
Before the war he had been a labourer and returned to that profession after he left the Navy. He died in Jan 1972 and was buried in Queensgate Cemetery, Beverley on 13 Jan 1972.
