Daniel was born in Beverley in 1886 the son of Benjamin Hudson Reynolds and Sarah Reynolds (nee Mennell ), one of 8 children. Daniel worked at the whiting works near Beverley Westwood.
In Dec 1905 he enlisted in the 2nd Battalion the Kings Royal Rifles, in 1911 he was in India, based in the Chakrata United Provinces. Daniel would have landed around 13 Aug 1914 as part of the British Expeditionary Force, in France. He died on 2 Nov 1914, and is buried in Larchwood Cemetery (Railway Cutting), West Vlaanderen, Belgium grave ref I.V.D 9.
He was awarded the 1914 star, British War medal, and Victory Medal, his medals were received by his brother George after his death.
