Percival Stanley Robson was born the 15 Nov 1895 the son of David and Martha, David was a hairdresser. Percy was baptised at St. Mary’s Church, Beverley the 11 Dec 1895. He had three brothers, Harold born 1893, James born 1894, and Ernest born 1899 and a sister, Marjorie born 1900. In 1901 they lived in Butcher Row, Beverley, by 1911 the family had moved to 4 Wednesday Market, Beverley.

On 13 Aug 1914 Percy, Ernest and Marjorie emigrated to America with their father, David. They departed from the Port of Liverpool on the SS Baltic and arrived in New York on 23 Aug 1914. They all lived in Cook County, St Louis, Missouri and Percy found work as an electrician. His father remained a hairdresser. When the family emigrated in 1914, mother Martha stayed in Hull, she died in 1955 aged 85.

Percy joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on the 24 Aug 1917 and became a private in the 2nd Tank Battalion. The Battalion was sent to England in 1918 but did not serve on the front. When Percy left the army he opted to stay in England living at Wednesday Market in 1919. In 1922 he married Muriel Popple in Beverley. By 1939 the family lived at 29A Richmond Street, Bridlington and he was the proprietor of cleaning services. They had a daughter, Mavis, born the 17 Aug 1926.

Muriel died in Jan 1964 aged 67 and Percy died in Apr 1978 aged 82, both died in Bridlington.
