Thomas William Middleton was born in Hull in 1892, the second son of William and Mary Middleton, and one of 8 children. By 1901 the family was living on Eastgate, Beverley and by 1911 at 5 Minster Terrace. In Dec 1914 Thomas married Lily Towse of Lairgate and in 1915 Kenneth their first child was born.
Thomas enlisted in the West Yorkshire Regiment, he was awarded the Victory Medal and the British War Medal and his name can be seen on the newly restored Norwood Roll of Honour.
Thomas died in Beverley in 1963, he was buried in Queensgate Cemetery on 13 Aug 1963.
