Frank Jones was the youngest son of Sam and Mary Jane Jones, he was born in beverley in 1895. before the war he wa employed as a house decorator.

He joined the East Yorkshire Regiment and an interesting letter was printed in the Beverley Guardian on 9 Nov 1918. The letter was sent to a Miss Hall at the Keldgate Mission, in the letter he thanks her for the gift of chocolate and cocoa and was surprised to learn that 240 men from the Keldgate area were serving King and Country. Frank`s two brothers Sam and Ernest also served in the war, Ernest died during the Battles of the Arras in 1918.

Frank married Mabel Smith in 1926 they had two children, Colin and Allan.
