Description
The following information was given by J G Mitchell:
'Pocklington police station was completed on 26 Jun 1889. The site with four cottages was purchased for £360.0s.0d and compensation to the four tenants was a total of £20.16s.0d. The cost of the police station and court house was £2,340.10s.6d. The first police station was converted to two houses for a sergeant and a constable. The adjoining coach house and stables were converted to a house for the superintendent. Superintendent John Farrah lived in the house until he moved to Driffield in November 1892 and was replaced by Superintendent John Rawling'
