TitleLabour migration: Yorkshire c.1670-1743
Date1996
DescriptionA study of rural depopulation using evidence from Yorkshire and with comparisons between York and the East, North and West Ridings and a section on the East Riding.
AbstractThe author conculdes that the evidence show an industrialising society in a process of transition. A remarkable feature of the study is the implied rise in agricultural output per head as agriculture released many thousands of families for employment in non-farming activities.
