AbstractThousands of Roman coins have been found on the Wolds either in hoards or singly in ploughed lands especially along the Roman road from Bridlington to Fridaythorpe.The author describes the Nunburnholme find, a hoard of roman coins ploughed up on a field called Mead Hills in 1855 and the Cowlam find when a hoard was found in fields near Cowlam in 1859
