AbstractThe Court for the East Parts of the East Riding was established under the Statute of Sewers of 1531 and was responsible for all drains and embankments in the lowlands of Holderness and the River Hull Valley, for the channel of the River Hull and for various tributary streams coming down from the west and north. Its jurisdiction lay in the bailiwick of Holderness and into the wapentakes of Dickering, Bainton and Hunsley
