Abstract
Since the discovery of three sewn wooden boat in the sediments of the River Humber at North Ferriby tidal erosion of the surrounding area of the river bank has continued to reveal artefacts and structures in similar deposits. Radiocarbon dates for the boats and for material subsequently excavated centre on the middle of the second millennium B.C. and the assemblage of objects suggest consideable activity on the foreshore at that time
