DescriptionConcluding that they are agreeable and willing to provide for internal defence of the East Riding; that a voluntary subscription is necessary and would be started; that the fort on Bridlington Quay be repaired and necessary naval forces stationed on the coast; a company of infantry raised for the fort and its neighbourhood; necessary companies of infantry (not less than 60 men each) be raised for internal defence, and one cavalry corps (not exceeding 50 men); and that the infantry shall not be marched out of the county or 10 miles from the coast without their permission, nor the cavalry out of the county; the two Beverley banks be treasurers.
