DescriptionDeclares that he is 59 years of age and is the son of William Baker and Mary Nelson, who were married at Snaith about 64 years. William and Mary Baker had 16 children, 4 of whom were still born or died in infancy.
The other children who reached adulthood in order were Sarah Baker, now wife of John Easenby of Temple Hurst [Temple Hirst], West Riding; William Baker, John Baker (now deceased), Benjamin Baker, Joseph Baker, Robert Baker, Nancy Baker, now widow of John Corbutt; Lydia Baker, wife of [?] Terry of Stubbs Walden, West Riding; Bessy Baker (now deceased), David Baker, Hannah Baker now married, and Thomas Baker, all of whom were baptized at Snaith. William Baker married Mrs Elizabeth Hirst (maiden name Haigh) at Wormersley about 26 years ago, and lived at Stubbs Walden. They died about 30 years ago and were buried at Wormersley. They had one child named Abraham Haigh Baker, who was born at Stubbs Walden, about 32 or 33 years. Robert's father died in 1815 and was buried at Snaith on 12 Apr. His mother Mary, died about 5 years ago and was buried at Snaith. The piece of land in Little Heck was owned by his father, he did not rent it. He left no will and on his decease David Baker took possession of the land and in 1822 built a cottage there.
