His brother William Wilson died before reaching the age of 21 years. Mary Wilson was a daughter and co-heir of Christopher Scott of Kingston upon Hull, merchant, and his wife Ann Clark, spinster. Joshua Scott, their only son, died before reaching the age of 21 years.
