AdminHistory | Beverley Town Cricket Club was established on 1 Mar 1862. Following a resolution dated 4 Mar 1881 the club was named Beverley and East Riding Cricket Club until 1888 when it reverted back to being Beverley Cricket Club. In 1907 a Bowling Club was commenced on the recreation ground and from 1909 the club was known as Beverley Town Cricket, Bowling and Athletic Club. The Club acquired a new ground in Norwood in 1909 and played its first game there on 22 May 1909. A Bowling Green was added to the grounds at that time. In 1916 the ground was placed at the disposal of the military stationed in the district and peace celebrations were held on the cricket ground in 1919. The Club was incorporated into a Company called 'The Beverley Town Cricket and Recreation Club Trust Limited' on 5 June 1948. The Club was known as Beverley Town Cricket and Recreation Club from that date. Squash courts were added to the grounds in 1974. |
