Description | Bundle of letters endorsed: 'Mr Lockwood's Letters; Copies of some of mine to him, and Mr Shepherd's and mine to the Bishop of Durham, to be carefully preserved.' This bundle appears to relate to the cutting down of a wood in Walkington which was owned by the church and ultimately the See of Durham. Mr Lockwood was the lessee and the correspondence relates Marmaduke Constable's objection to the plan.
