DescriptionThey travelled in carriages which were shipped over the Channel and where necessary on continental rivers. There is a description of the party being shipwrecked in The Rhone on one such journey by river. The party set out from London on 10 Oct 1814 and travelled via Dover, Calais, Boulogne, Amiens, Chantilly, St Denis, Paris, Nevers, Moulins, Lyons, Avignon and Brignollea to Frejus near Nice.
