The will was presented to the archives in a frame which was removed upon arrival by the conservator. It included a note stating 'the will of Barnay Wood of Kilnwick Percy made 28th November 1616. He was the son and heir of Thomas and Jane Wood the builders of the Hall in 1574. Like his father he left money for the poor of numerous local villages and hamlets which are listed at the end of the will. (Proved 24 Jan 1616/17)' |
