Title
Letter to John Grimston from Henry Maister
Date
14 Aug 1757
Description
Includes references to Grimston's advice to go to Scarb[o]ro[ugh] but not being able to bear to be treated coolly by Mrs C, therefore will give up all thoughts of it; her having been told his dislike to a personal refusal therefore won't expect him to risk one; his success depending entirely on his friend's intercession, not on any shape from his side; the same reasons will keep him from going to York next week; Mrs Grimston being equally his friend; Maister proposing following Grimston's advice and writing to Lady Legard; the letter being sent with the Huntsman who has been sent to worm Grimston's dogs; the paper sent by Grimston from Sir Digby; a purchaser for the three trees left behind; debts from Reed amounting to £22.9.10; a request if Grimston writes to Lady Legard to strengthen Maister's case and an enclosed receipt for Grimston's Plate
