DescriptionIncludes references to the health of the recipient; Mr Hanway's works with the printed borders being sent to the Carrier; seeing Mr Ch[eere] at the first opportunity; being conveniently fixed at Charleton about a mile from Greenwich; the summer house in the garden commanding views of the Thames; being situated higher than Blackheath; within a mile of Woolwich; five of Mr [S]iddions a little home and fine collection of pictures well chose; a mile from [Sister] Pages and Lord Chesterfield; the Duke of Bouttons house with reference to Inigo Jones, his Villa nearby and its resemblance to [Kerby] hall (includes small sketch of the shape of it); nothing new having been discovered at Herculaneum; hearing from a friend at [Marselles] about a machine called an Automate, a figure of Bacchus about seven feet high "stradling on a Tun which by the contrivance of some pipes...is made to speak; his Language is French...". Includes an account for 3 Vol[ume]s of Hanways Works and printed borders which are sent to Mr Jarod at Beverley by Peter Cave the Carrier
