DescriptionIncludes the seven charges brought against Sir Walter Rudston and depositions of witnesses, including Christopher Dawston of Scarborough, yeoman, and Charles Campleshon of Catton, gentleman, Jo. Burneby, gentleman, Clement Read, of Buttercrambe, Francis Brough of West Elly, Colonel Matthew Alured, 11 June 1649. The Information of Andrew Grant of Scarborough, 16 August 1650. Charges included that he provided horses and men for the Lords of Northumberland and Newcastle and fought with Sir Hugh Cholmley; he advised and consented that Lord Newcastle's army be brought to Yorkshire; lending £100 to that army; that he did charge £3,000 per month for the army's maintenance; he did collect money in Holme Beacon; that he did visit parliamentary garrisons; that Charles 1 dined at his house at Hayton.
