Charges included that he provided horses and men for the Lords of Northumberland and Newcastle and fought with Sir Hugh Cholmley; he advised and consented that Lord Newcastle's army be brought to Yorkshire; lending £100 to that army; that he did charge £3,000 per month for the army's maintenance; he did collect money in Holme Beacon; that he did visit parliamentary garrisons; that Charles 1 dined at his house at Hayton.
