Refers to a deed of 1 June between Rev William Foster, clerk, subchantor and keepr of house of Bederin College within the City of York and his brethren the Vicars Choral of the cathedral and metropolitical church of Saint Peter in York, otherwise known as York Minster and William Read of the other part and that the subchantor devised, grant and let unto William Read which mentions several houses situated in Stonegate adjoining on the prebend house of the prebend of Ampleforth on the south west side and the house then in the occupation of Draper Wood Grocer and on the other sides occupied by George Beeforth Taylor, Robert Baiker if Hull, mariner and John Raper, merchant, [-] Carleton, George Gelson and Richard Whittle at a consideration: 44 years under the yearly rent of 14 shillings; house and appurtenances in High Petergate formerly in the occupation of John Wayne, tallow chandler, John Perritt, George Woodhouse, Joseph Simpson, consideration: 44 years under the yearly rent of 16 shillings and 8 pence; house and appurtenances in Petergate, formerly in the occupation Sir Richard Brigham and John Read Baker, deceased, Thomas Read Baker, George Lincon with a consideration of 44 years at a yearly rent of 4 shillings.
