The writer also describes an 'Emperor' opening a bridge in Boulogne on Wednesday 28 September and research has shown that Emperor Napoleon the third opened a bridge there on Wednesday 28 September in 1853. The diary also mentions Marianne Clifford Constable and she died in 1862.
