| Description | Includes copy correspondence from J K Picard, White Lead Works, Wilmington near Hull, relating to the state of the embankment on the River Hull near Sculcoates. William Stickney states in his letter 'In looking up the River from North Bridge at low tide, the encroachments and impediments are almost continuous. The Warehouses, Granaries, Timber Yards have been built to the utmost of their authority. They have erected Platforms of piled up Cliff stone.... The Platforms of Stone are frequently breaking down and lodging in the deepest part of the River.' |
