Harold Fairburn Clark was born on 31 May 1898. He was baptised on 27 June of that year in Watton. His parents were Henry T. Clark and Jane nee Bell. His brother, Charles Ernest was born in 1900 and his sister, Maud Emily in 1902

In 1901 the family lived at 39 Main Street, Watton.

His father died in 1905 at the age of 41 years.

By 1911 Harold had moved to Cawkeld Cranswick, a large farm in Watton as a servant. His job was a horseman on the farm.

He joined the Wagoner Special Reserve on 14 July 1913 at Lowthorpe. He was given the army number 276.

He was re-engaged on 27 June 1914 and mobilised at Bradford. He went overseas on 20 August 1914 to 25 August 1918. He was on furlough from 26 August 1918 to 9 September 1918 and sent to France on 10 September 1918.
He was in Leuze in Belgium on February 1919 where he contracted pneumonia.
Harold was discharged from the army on 16 April 1919.

He came home and lived at 59 Scarborough Road, Driffield.

He married Millicent Evelyn Julian in 1926. She was born in Driffield on 20 May 1896. Their daughter, Enid M. was born on 29 May 1929.

According to the 1939 register, he worked as a rollerman in the flour mill. The family lived at 2 St. John Gardens in Driffield.

Harold died in June 1957 aged 59 in Driffield and was buried at Driffield cemetery.

His wife, Millicent died in Hull in 1986 aged 90 Years.
