Enos was born in 1892 the son of William and Charlotte Walker. In 1913, Enos joined Beverley Borough Police, he was a keen rugby player who played for Beverley Rugby Club and was on the register for Hull Kingston Rovers’ second team.

In Oct 1915 Enos was granted permission by the Watch Committee to enlist as a military policeman for the duration of the war. He served over 2 years in Egypt before being transferred to the Cheshire Regiment where he found himself fighting in France. He was awarded the Military Medal in Sep 1918 for action at Kemmel.

Enos returned to Beverley Borough Police and married Brenda Buddle in 1920. Their son Alfred was born and then baptized at St Nicholas Church in 1921. Enos died from influenza on 25 Jun 1922 at his home of 2 George Street, Beverley. The funeral took place the following Wednesday at St Martin’s Cemetery in Queensgate and was attended by members of the Beverley Borough Police.

Brenda Walker appears on the 1939 Register still living in George Street with her son Alfred, an apprentice welder, and her sister Lucy.
