Edwin Wilson was born on 2 Feb 1887 in Beverley, the son of Thomas Watson, carpenter and Hannah Wilson (nee Jackson). The family lived in Well Lane, Beverley. Edwin married Rose Lilian Smith in Stockton on Tees, Durham on 29 Sep 1907. In 1911 the couple were living in Trinity Lane, Beverley and Edwin was a bricklayer. They had four children Muriel born 1908, Dorothy Yvonne born 1910, Mabel born 1912 and Marjory born 1914.

Edwin served as a private in the Northumberland Fusiliers. He was awarded the Victory and British medals.

The family continued to live in Beverley and in 1939 Edwin was working as a bricklayer. He died on 8 Jan 1951 in Beverley and was buried in Queensgate Cemetery on 11 Jan 1951.
