Harry Taylor was born the 1 Feb 1896 in Beverley, the son of Harry and Emily Taylor (nee Sellars). In 1911 the family were living in Beverley and Harry was a tanner’s labourer.
Harry joined the East Yorkshire Regiment in 1915 and was posted to Egypt in Dec 1915, in 1916 he moved to the Western Front. He received the 15 Star Victory Medal and the British Medal.
Harry married Gladys Jane Watson at Etton church on 24 Jun 1920, his occupation was given as a police constable. Harry and Gladys had two children, Roy and Arthur. The family later lived on Grovehill Road, Beverley and Harry became a builder’s labourer.
Harry died in Apr 1962 and was buried on 13 Apr 1962.
