Edward was born in 1879, he married Emma Dove in Beverley in 1907. They lived at various addresses in Hull and had four children, the youngest, Margaret, born in Nov 1918. In 1925 Edward was given one month in prison for neglecting his wife and children, leaving the Poor Law responsible for their welfare. Emily herself spent a month in prison in 1912 for larceny (theft).
During the war Edward served on the minesweepers. He died in Hull 1938 aged 58. Includes photograph, information taken from census, military records, Commonwealth War Graves, newspapers |
