Thomas Orrah [Orrat] Baker who served with the East Yorkshire Regiment was born in 1895 at Beverley Parks where his father John Francis Baker was the hind on a farm. His father was born in Woodmansey and his mother Betsey Ann was born in Kilham. The 1901 census lists the family living at Beverley Parks, Thomas the only son but he had several older sisters, Clara, Emily, Marion, Lilian, and Reta and 2 younger sisters Elsie and Mabel.

Thomas was baptised at Beverley Minster on the 13 Aug 1898, born 11 Nov 1895. Three of his sisters, Betsy born 1892, Rita Annie born 1893 and Elsie Victoria born in 1897 were baptised at the same time.

His photograph appears in Green's Almanack in 1916 and again in 1917 when he was wounded. Thomas is listed on the Woodmansey and Thearne War Memorial. He is also listed on the Beverley War Memorial in Hengate.

There is a death recorded of a Thomas O Baker in Holderness in 1966.
