Vic was born in Beverley the 11 Feb 1888 the son of Benjamin Hudson Reynolds and Sarah Reynolds (nee Mennell), he was one of 8 children. He worked at the whiting works near Beverley Westwood.

In 1908 his attestation form shows he joined the 5th Battalion of The Yorkshire Regiment as a reservist, in 1911 he was working as a picture framer.

Victor was awarded the Military Medal as reported in the Beverley Guardian on 6 Sep 1916

"Pte Vic Reynolds No 6 Field Ambulance (Beverley) has been awarded the Military Medal for conspicuous bravery, retrieving wounded comrades to safety under heavy fire"
