Albert John Rennison was born 15 Nov 1895 at Aldbrough the son of John and Annie Rennison (nee Whitwell), he was baptized at Aldbrough the 19 Dec 1895. By 1911 Albert was a farm hand working on a farm in Little Cowden.
Albert was a private in the 4th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment. In Apr 1918 the 4th Battalion were involved the Battle of the River Lys and according to the International Red Cross records he was captured and interred at Dulmen Prison on 4 Apr 1918. He was released in December and returned home to Beverley. Albert was awarded the Victory Medal and the British Medal.
On 22 Mar 1930, Albert married Carrie Barker at Foston on the Wolds, he was a gardener, by 1939 they are living in Routh. Albert died in Mar 1957 aged 61 in Routh and was buried there on 12 Mar 1957.
