Edmund Julian was born on 4 Apr 1891 in Bradford and was baptized at Bradford Wesleyan chapel on 24 Apr 1891. the son of Edward and Anne Eliza Julian (nee McCann). The family moved from Bradford to Beverley and lived in Dyer Lane. Before the start of the war Edmund was a rullyman on the railways.
He enlisted with the 5th Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment on 4 Sep 1914 and in 1915 served in France. On 8 Apr Edmund was wounded with a gunshot to his leg, as a result of his injuries he was transferred to the Labour Corps and was granted agricultural furlough in Beverley and was eventually disembodied from the army in 1919. He was awarded the Victory, British and 15 Star medals
Edmund married Ethel Clubley in 1917 and they had three children, Vera, Gladys and Edward. He worked as a labourer in the glue works in Beverley. Edmund died in 1934 in Beverley, he was 43.
