| AdminHistory | Sir Henry Cooper was Chairman of the Hull School Board in 1871. When the Board Schools in Bean Street, Hull, opened in 1876 they were named 'Sir Henry Cooper Schools' in his honour. In 1957 the boys were transferred to Boulevard High School, leaving a senior girls', junior, and infants' department. In 1967 a new Sir Henry Cooper high school opened as a mixed school. In 1969 it was renamed Sir Henry Cooper High School. The initial deposit was arranged in such a way that all the records, such as the published items and medals from Bean Street School, were listed together. The original arrangement has been altered to reflect the proper administrative structure of the school and document types. The deposit was accompanied by some detailed notes. These gave additional background information on the records. The notes which accompanied the collection are available at SL138/11/16. |
