| Description | Date admitted: 10 Mar 1905 Age: 12 Address: Walthamstow, London Circumstances: this girl had been staying with an aunt in Gool[e] for a few weeks, ran away and came to Hull by train without a ticket, after she had had a look round the town she went to the Paragon station and asked for a gentleman there, to purchase her a ticket for Doncaster, he handed her over to the NER police and she was brought to this home by PC Garton. Inquiries were made and the aunt refused to have her back, as this was the third time she had run away in six weeks. Her father was informed and he stated the girl had continually been running away from his home since she was seven years old, he had been almost round the country Days in the home: 5 Date left the home: 15 Mar 1905 Situation on departure: he asked us if we could keep her until a permanent home could be found to take her and while arrangements were being made she ran away from this home. The following night she was taken to the workhouse and ran away next morning and went by train to Scarbro, without a ticket and put into workhouse there pending enquiries
