Her friends sent her her boat fare for her to go home but as the boats were not running she was unable to go home that way. She found her money was going, she decided to come as far north as she could by train. She got to Stamford Bridge and then walked to Pocklington, the vicar of the latter place kindly paid her fare to Hull

Situation on departure: on arriving here she stated her case to PC Buttery who saw the officials of the Scottish Aid Society and they kindly paid her fare to Glasgow
