Circumstances: this young woman had been in a situation at Copenhagen. She had gone out there with some people who had lived in England for some time, to live with them as domestic servant. The people failed in business and they had eventually to part with her. She soon found herself stranded and sought advice from the English consul, who paid her fare home to England. She was noticed on board the ship by Mrs Funch on her arrival in Hull and she brought her to this home
