He then admitted stealing it from his father, his father was informed by telephone but he refused to prosecute. The home manager found suitable lodgings for him Days in the home: temporarily relieved Date left the home: 18 Dec 1909 Situation on departure: as the youth was desirous of going to sea and the father was willing to provide him with an outfit a ship was found for him by Chief Inspector Bailey and he went to sea.
