Circumstances: this young girl was sent to this home by Inspector Sewell, her father was at sea and her mother had been sent to prison for keeping a disorderly house, both parents had previously been convicted for a similar offence. It was at first intended to send the girl into a home until she was 16 years of age. It was afterwards decided she should go to service. She was a very willing and useful little girl
