She had only been out of the Workhouse a few days, she having given birth to a child in that institution. A married sister had taken the child to nurse but after the girl had been in this home two days, the sister deserted the child and it too was brought to this home. It was first intended to get a situation for the girl but now, as the child was thrown on her hands, that was impossible Days in the home: 11 Date left the home: 14 May 1909 Situation on departure: the Chief Constable and Mrs Malcolm kindly took an interest in the case and obtained a home for the girl and her baby (boy) at Liverpool
