| Description | Date admitted: 2 Apr 1906 Age: 16 Address: Birmingham Circumstances: obtained a situation in Austria (through some friends) with some German people but after she had been there a few months, her health failed and an English lady out there took pity on her and took her to live with her and kept her for a month, when she sent her to the English Consul, who sent her out to England. She was fortunately seen on board ship on arriving here by Mr Chatterton, who found she was destitute and brought her to this home. Inquiries were made and it was found that her father was in South Africa, her mother had been rendered homeless through debt and could not take her Days in the home: 9 Date left the home: 10 Apr 1906 Situation on departure: eventually a lady with whom the girl had previously lived promised to take her and she was sent on to her accordingly
