| Description | Date admitted: 29 Jan 1902 Age: 17 Address: no home Circumstances: came to Hull on 27th January, having run away from a penitentiary at York, of which institute she had been an inmate for a few mon[ths] and at the time was wearing the clothing of that home. On the following night as she had neither friends or money asked PC Waines to assist her and the PC brought her to this home and the authorities at York were communicated with and stated they did not intend to take proceedings against her for taking away the clothing Days in the home: 15 Date left the home: 13 Feb 1902 Situation on departure: the home manager was of opinion that a penitentiary was not the proper place for her as she was not a fallen girl and she being willing to work, clothing was provided her by the soc[iety] and a situation was found for her on the Anlaby Road
