Circumstances: came to the home, having been in service at Downham in Norfolk but had to leave on account of being overworked, she was desirous of obtaining a situation in Hull and not having sufficient money to take lodgings and having a home in name only, was admitted

Situation on departure: she obtained a situation with Mrs Doyle, Hedon Road and was to go to it on the 21st, then Mrs Doyle sent word to say she could not do with her until the 29th on which date the Matron found she was in serious trouble and not able to take a situation at all. Her father was written to and he refused to assist her. She eventually went to her friends at Malton on 3 February
