18 Nov 1888 being in the Victoria Tavern, Chapman Street, when on duty at 2.27pm on the 18th inst, fined 1 weeks pay by the Watch Committee and placed under supervision for 3 months and warned that he will be dismissed if quilty of a similar offence
12 Dec 1888 reported by the Chief Constable and Dr Mason as having suffered from alcoholism on the 7th Nov 1888, ordered to be recorded by the Watch Committee
2 Jul 1890 complained of by C Jackson, Brewer's Arms, for obtaining drink during the last 6 weeks, he not having paid for it, called upon to resign by the Watch Committee 2 Jul 1890

Rewards and commendations:
5 Jun 1890 advanced from 27 shillings to 29 shillings per week
