18 May [1878] being absent from his beat from 12.05 to 2.05am, fined 1 days pay by the Chief Constable
19 Mar 1879 smoking a pipe in Parliament Street when in uniform, fined 1 shilling by the Chief Constable
12 Oct 1881 not patrolling his beat and found asleep under No10 shed, Dock Side at 3.25am [on the] 9th inst, fined 1 days pay by the Watch Committee
27 Apr 1882 being absent from his quarters during the night of the 26th inst, severely reprimanded and cautioned by the Chief Constable
18 Oct 1883 allowing a prisoner charged with being drunk to escape from his custody and not reporting the same to his Sergeant or Inspector also for not attending the Chief Constable's office when warned to do so, reprimanded and fined 2 shillings and sixpence by the Chief Constable
