Offences and punishment: 2 Jul 1910 worse for drink when parading for duty at 9.45pm; also using improper language to Inspector Playfoot at 11.15pm, reduced from 29 shillings to 27 shillings per week by the Watch Committee for 6 months and to be then reported upon further 3 Oct 1912 neglecting to work his beat and being in a North Eastern Railway Company's signal cabin at Newington from 2.35 to 2.50am [on the] 3rd Oct 1912, fined 2 days pay by the Chief Constable 15 May 1913 neglecting to work his beat from 3.20 to 4am, when found was asleep in the parade room at Gordon Street Station [also] drinking intoxicating liquor when on duty without special permission from a superior officer, fined 4 days pay by the Chief Constable 7 May 1914 worse for drink and unfit for duty when on duty at 11.45pm [also] insubordination to his superior officers, dismissed the Force by the Watch Committee 13.5.14
