12 Apr 1887 reported for being in the Carriers Arms beerhouse and drinking in company with two men at 11.15am on Sunday the 27 Mar 1887 during prohibited hours, severely reprimanded and removed from the Detective Department and transferred to C Division for uniform duty by the Chief Constable
11 Jul 1888 not parading for duty until 11.50pm on the 11th instant and telling a falsehood stating that the DCC had given him two hours off whereas it was only one, severely reprimanded and fined 2 days pay by the Chief Constable
12 Dec 1888 reported by the Chief Constable and Dr Mason as having suffered from alcoholism on 7 Nov 1888, ordered to be recorded by the Watch Committee
16 May 1889 neglecting to visit a portion of his beat between 2.30 and 5am on the16th a building on that portion of his beat having been entered and a felony committed, fined 2 days pay and reprimanded by the Chief Constable
